Cannot remove footnote separator from master document due to unknown.
Cause:
Unknown.
Solution:
Remove the footnote separator each time the master document is opened.
1) Select the 'View' menu and select 'Normal'.
2) Select the 'View' menu again and select 'Footnotes'. (The check box notes appear in the Footnotes window at the bottom of the screen.)
3) Select 'Footnote Separator' from the drop-down list box. (The separator will display in the check box note window.)

4) Select the characters or line displayed.
5) Press DELETE.
6) Do one of the following:
a) Click 'Close' to close the check box note window.
b) Type a different separator and close the window.
